Citing their years of poor performance, the Department of Education said last week it would discontinue two charter schools.
The institutions, The Ethical Community Charter School and the Fahari Academy Charter School, both in Brooklyn, will close in June when their charters expire, the DOE said March 5. The closings came on the heels of the United Federation of Teachers’ announcement that it would close its kindergarten-through-eighth-grade charter school.
