To the Editor: The "case" of "The People v. The Police in the USA" is doomed to be unresolved in the near future.
There will be failure for those Americans who want to defund the police, or eliminate the police and start over from scratch (as Morgan State Professor Jason Johnson recommends). There will be failure for many of the 18,000 police agencies throughout the nation whose members have now seen that their departments will possibly throw them to the wolves when there is enough public and political pressure.
