A response to death

Posted

To the editor:

With the death of Vietnam war hero and patriotic American lawyer, Robert Mueller, who headed the FBI for 12 years, evoked this response from our draft-dodging, hate-filled President Donald Trump:  “Robert Mueller just died.  Good.  I’m glad he’s dead.  He can no longer hurt innocent people!”

This is Donald Trump who privately complained about appearing with disabled veterans stating the wounded military amputees didn’t look good for him.  I guess Jesus on the Cross in the Oval Office would also make Trump look bad.

This is a President who stood in Arlington National Cemetery and told General Mark Milley that the dead heroes were suckers and losers.  When Milley called Trump a fascist to the core and a wannabe dictator, Trump accused Milley of treason and said his actions deserved death.

Trump calls himself a Christian (non-denominational), but if we examine the words from Jesus in his Sermon on the Mount, Trump appears to be the antithesis of a Christian.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Somehow I don’t think Trump and Pope Leo XIII will see eye to eye on Christianity.  It doesn’t prove Trump is wrong; Trump is always wrong because he is a malignant narcissist who cares about no one but himself.

President Trump has repeatedly called the Mueller investigation a “hoax” and an “illegal takedown” aimed at undermining his presidency.

Based on the FBI’s 2016 counterintelligence investigation, “Crossfire Hurricane,” and the fabricated Steele Dossier, the investigation was politically motivated and false. It failed to find any conspiracy or coordination between the Trump Campaign and the Russian government.

Given these circumstances, it’s logical for Trump to believe Mueller was a co-conspirator in the Democrats’ scheme to sabotage his presidency. The affair left him bitter about Mueller and his fellow Democrats. Trump is known for his bluntness, even when commenting about double-dealers.

Biblical wisdom cautions against deceiving others for personal gain or control.

Evangelical Christians, aware of this Biblical wisdom, overwhelmingly voted to return Mr. Trump to the White House, effectively ending this political narrative.
