32BJ of the Service Employees International Union reached a four-year tentative contract agreement with the Realty Advisory Board, averting a proposed strike one day before the pact that covers 32,000 doormen, porters and other residential workers was set to expire.

The contract, which must be ratified, includes raises totaling 12.57 percent over four years and a one-time $3,000 bonus. Most significantly, workers will maintain the same number of paid sick and vacation days, and will continue to receive health-care that is fully covered by their employers.
