Cafeteria employees working in the U.S. Senate are facing mass layoffs, their union Unite Here announced April 4.
More than 80 workers are expected to be laid off April 14. Foot traffic in the Senate cafeteria has been down since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, and federal aid issued to Capitol workers has dwindled.
