The MTA is accepting applications for car maintainer-machinist jobs with New York City Transit through May 15 for exams scheduled to start Aug. 14.
The minimum salary for car maintainers in the Division of Maintenance of Way is $33.84 per hour, increasing to $39.81 in the sixth year. The minimum salary for car maintainer in the Division of Car Equipment is $35.33 per hour, increasing to $41.57 in the sixth year. The application fee is $85.
