The mailing of election ballots for Local 372 of District Council 37 has been stayed by a State Supreme Court Judge until Sept. 22 after two of the candidates running against President Shaun Francois filed a lawsuit alleging there had been “unlawful conduct” by union officials.
Paul Brathwaite, a Senior School Lunch Worker vying to unseat Mr. Francois, and Anthony Gordon, a Parent Coordinator running against Executive Vice President Donald Nesbit, say that their slate, Team Quiet Storm, has been denied a slate box on the ballots, which were set to be mailed out “on or about” Sept. 3.
