Members of the Correction Officers Benevolent Association voted 95 percent in favor of approving a new wage contract with the city, the union’s president, Norman Seabrook, said Jan. 27.
The contract followed the uniformed pattern of 11-percent raises over seven years—which didn’t thrill many COs—but also included changes by the Department of Correction on issues of importance for members, including the agency’s response to rising violence at the jails.
