Amid a lengthy contract spat with a union representing student workers, Columbia University has started informing over 100 union members that they won't have teaching jobs for the upcoming semester.
The Student Workers of Columbia union has been attempting to bargain for a new contract with university management for months, but a dispute over bargaining-session observers and a possible one-year contract extension has stopped negotiations.
