A contentious amendment to the municipal code that would allow the city to charge retired civil servants for continued enrollment in their traditional Medicare could be finding some traction within the City Council.
The legislation would allow the city to move forward on a stalled plan to switch to a cost-saving, private sector Medicare Advantage plan and for the most part ditch the traditional Medicare preferred by municipal retirees.
