To the editor:
Eric Adams, Andrew Cuomo and Donald Trump are the answer. The question: what three politicians from NYC are shameless, heartless, ethically challenged, refuse to take responsibility for disgraceful behavior and are clearly unfit to serve in public office? Numerous examples can be cited. The following briefly discusses one recent example for each of these so-called public servants.
Judge Laura Taylor Swain ended the city’s control over Rikers Island. She appointed a remediation manager to address extensive abuses to prisoners, such as physical and sexual violence, medical neglect and serious psychological harm. Since Adams became mayor, at least 38 people have died at Rikers. The first action he took was to remove a reform-minded corrections commissioner and replace him with an individual that had strong ties to the correction officers’ union, was a major supporter of Adams and a longtime obstacle to reform. Swain last year wrote that the constitutional rights of prisoners and staff were violated, and her previous orders were deliberately ignored.
Andrew Cuomo in 2021 resigned as governor after 11 women accused him of sexual harassment. Cuomo, now running for mayor, says he’s innocent of all accusations, despite findings by the state attorney general’s office that he had sexually harassed these women. Cuomo called the AG’s investigation “politically motivated,” the same words used by Trump and Adams before and after their felony indictments.
Trump, whose immigration policies subvert the Constitution, signed an executive order that gave refugee status to Afrikaners. Trump falsely claimed, “white farmers are being brutally killed, and the land is being confiscated” and that they were victims of genocide. By contrast, Trump recently rushed $3 billion dollars in military aid to Israel. U.N. agencies and human rights organizations in detailed documented reports have accused Israel of genocide, ethnic cleansing and apartheid in the occupied territories.

In the opening sentence of the initial paragraph, you critique Eric Adams, Andrew Cuomo, and Donald Trump. That’s your opinion, and it’s perfectly valid.
In the fourth paragraph’s fourth sentence, you cite United Nations agencies and human rights organizations accusing Israel of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and apartheid in the occupied territories. These sources are replete with anti-Semitism and exhibit a hostile stance towards Israel, rendering the assertion unsubstantiated.
To begin with, it is imperative to clarify that Hamas terrorists initiated a catastrophic attack on Israel on Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah. This attack resulted in the unfortunate loss of over 1,400 civilians and injuries to 3,300 more. Notably, 200 civilians were abducted and taken to Gaza. It is crucial to emphasize that Israel was the victim of this attack, not the aggressor. Hamas, responsible for heinous acts of genocide and crimes against humanity, is now facing its own decline due to its unwavering animosity and extremism. As the renowned philosopher Marcus T. Cicero aptly stated, “Hatred is an enduring anger.”
