D.C.’s clown show

Posted

To the editor:

In the wake of the suspensions/firings of late night hosts Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel, very funny liberal comedians, I tried to think of any right-wing comedians who are funny. Some would argue that someone like Joe Rogan is amusing, but rarely are conservatives funny on political subjects — except to their base.

We are in the American Circus where Democrats are the comedians and Republicans are the clowns — at least in the Trump-cult era.

Donald Trump is the biggest, baddest clown, spewing petty revenge attacks. His cabinet and advisors are a bunch of morons who can actually hurt your eyes and ears to see and hear them.  From RFK Jr. to Stephen Miller to Tom Holman, they could scare anyone. But their visages are not nearly as scary as their words and actions. Compassion for others is something they avoid at all costs.

Now we hear they want to go after the ABC show, “The View,” apparently for the show’s “woke” agenda. In the “Me Too” era, I dare them to go after a panel of smart, funny women. That will never happen no matter how Trump’s rich thugs demand that ABC dumps that show. That’s a pink line no one would cross without serious repercussions.

The "Party of Freedom of Speech" is attacking Freedom of Speech. Trump said many times he would not restrict Freedom of Speech. It's really rich and shows what a hypocrite he is. It also shows what a big baby Trump is. He can't take it. Remember, the comedians goofed plenty on Biden, but Biden ignored them. Trump gives them a wealth of material. His gaffes, mispronunciations, lies, flip flops and actions give the comedians plenty of fodder for their acts. He just can't take it. He should ignore them. Remember this is a deflection from the Epstein files which is not going away anytime soon. The networks are scared of him but should not back down. It's a freedom of speech issue. It was OK for Kirk to spew lies and hate. It's OK for Fox to constantly lie. Take Fox off the air for their lies.
