Striking Teamsters delayed packages leaving an Amazon facility in Queens on Thursday as workers kicked off a nationwide strike at seven different Amazon distribution centers, the largest labor action in the company’s history.
Dozens of recently organized delivery workers contracted by Amazon formed picket lines with their union allies outside of the Maspeth facility’s exit, causing delivery vans to depart hours late just as the Christmas shopping rush entered its final days.
