The Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry, Local Union #3, will conduct a recruitment from Oct. 16 through Oct. 27 for 300 electrician apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced.
The five-and-a-half-year selective Apprentice Program of the Electrical Industry of IBEW Local Union No. 3 includes a minimum of 35 hours per week on-the-job training for four years. It also requires mandatory attendance at related instruction for four hours per week; classroom instruction in electrical theory; and three hours per week in college courses leading to an associate degree.
