A former city Department of Education executive faces 20 years in prison following his conviction on bribery and other charges for trading payments from a food purveyor in return for accepting chicken tenders containing metal, plastic and bones that were served to students.
Eric Goldstein, who managed food operations for the city’s 1,800 public schools as the ex-chief executive officer at the DOE’s Office of School Support Services between 2008 and 2018, was found guilty Wednesday of conspiracy, bribery and extortion by a jury in Brooklyn federal court.
