The family of a man shot and killed by plainclothes NYPD officers in September 2019 that also resulted in the friendly-fire death of Police Officer Brian Mulkeen has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the city and the other officers present.
During a virtual press conference last week, the family of Antonio Williams, its lawyers, advocates and elected officials said the officers who approached and then chased the 27-year-old outside the Edenwald Houses in The Bronx when he ran from them did so without reason—and in violation of the law.
