Full-career FDNY firefighters and fire officers who retired last year were eligible to average annual pensions of $171,336, up 13 percent from the prior year, according to data crunched by the open-government group Empire Center.
Among 430 new retirees with at least 20 years of service, 108 were eligible for pensions exceeding $200,000. Nearly 95 percent, or 405 full-career retirees, qualified for six-figure pensions, the data shows.
