Fewer Inmates Means Fewer Prisons: State to Close 3 Facilities by March

With the prison population at a 30-year low, the state announced that it will close three of its correctional facilities within a three-month stretch.

Watertown Correctional Facility in Jefferson County, Gowanda Correctional Facility in Erie County and the Clinton Annex in Clinton County will close by the end of March, according to the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
