Overwhelming endorsement of PBA contract

For the first time in nearly seven years, the city’s rank-and-file cops will be getting a raise. 

The 22,000 members of the Police Benevolent Association this week overwhelmingly ratified an eight-year labor contract with the city, retroactive to 2017, that will see officers’ starting salaries increase roughly 29 percent to $55,000 over the life of the deal.
