Governor Cuomo had a few well-chosen words at the end of his Dec. 9 media briefing for the Staten Island officials who have criticized him for coronavirus-related crackdowns he's ordered in the borough, with some of them actually defending the owners of a bar that defied a closing order, with one of them running over a City Sheriff's Deputy who had come to arrest him.
"Staten Island is to me such a disturbing situation on so many levels," the Governor said in response to questions from WCBS-TV's Marcia Kramer. "Staten Island went from the lowest death rate in NYC" related to the coronavirus. "It now has the highest death rate in New York City...25 percent of all the fatalities in New York City come from Staten Island."
