The Daily News last week disclosed that a dossier has been compiled making the case for the firing of city Investigation Commissioner Mark Peters, but Mayor de Blasio has balked at pulling the trigger.
It’s been no secret that over his 57 months in office, the relationship has severely deteriorated between Mr. de Blasio and his 2013 campaign treasurer, who has been surprisingly aggressive in exposing wrongdoing and incompetence that was embarrassing to City Hall. The dossier, according to an article by Greg Smith—whose stellar investigative work has also frosted the Mayor’s pumpkin on numerous occasions—indicates that three instances in which it was alleged that Mr. Peters was abusive to other city officials are key elements of the case for firing the city’s chief internal watchdog.
