Sylvia Ash, who served as a member of MCU’s board from 2008 until 2016, was convicted in December for conspiracy to obstruct justice, obstruction of justice and making a false statement to a federal agent in an attempt to throw off investigators probing millions of dollars in theft from the credit union.
The institution serves 590,000 former and current civil servants across the state, and manages $4.2 billion in assets. Ash served as chair of the board from May 2015 until August 2016.
