GOP's angry agenda

Posted

To the editor:

The abortion issue is being used by the GOP as a tool to confuse and conflate the white supremacist and misogynist positions of the Trump-inspired Republican Party.

As Gloria Steinem said, “If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament.” It’s more a male-dominance issue than a belief that life begins with conception.

The current Republican Party is racist and misogynist in that white males are angry and even terrified about losing their majority power in our nation to minorities and women. In that way we are not so different than the Taliban and all the terrorists who demand that women be subjugated to white men.

This midterm election and the presidential election in 2024 will show whether they are successful in promoting their lies, their racism, their misogynist policies and their attempts to destroy democracy.
