The state is doubling down on a planned expansion of the renewable energy industry and an accompanying spike in jobs despite a decision by the state’s Public Service Commission to deny requests for increased subsidies from large companies for their green energy projects, Governor Kathy Hochul’s office last week.
The plan, a series of benchmarks and undertakings for the coming months, recommits efforts to reach clean energy goals despite financial obstacles posed by inflation and, in the wake of the PSC’s denial of bailout funds, doubts over the continued commitment by private industry to dozens of projects.
