Workers in New York can no longer be disciplined for declining to attend so-called “captive audience” meetings, according to legislation signed by Kathy Hochul Wednesday.
The governor also signed a bill elevating penalties for wage theft and legislation that increases workers’ compensation benefits. Hochul signed the bills alongside numerous labor leaders and legislators at the New York Central Labor Council’s annual Labor Day breakfast reception in Albany.
