A judge has found that the city unlawfully terminated 16 Department of Sanitation employees for their refusals to get the Covid vaccine.
“The vaccination mandate for City employees was not just about safety and public health; it was about compliance,” Staten Island Supreme Court Justice Ralph Porzio wrote in the conclusion to his Oct. 24 decision. “Being vaccinated does not prevent an individual from contracting or transmitting Covid-19.”
