The National Labor Relations Board has issued a complaint against Starbucks following accusations that the coffee company retaliated against two employees who were working to unionize their store in Phoenix.
Starbucks Workers United, an affiliate of the Service Employees International Union, filed charges earlier this year alleging that Starbucks surveilled workers engaged in union activities and threatened employees with discipline “for engaging in protected concerted activities.” A regional director for the NLRB found merit in the claims and issued a formal complaint.
