The city is moving to terminate more than 1,000 educators and dozens of firefighters who have failed to comply with coronavirus vaccine requirements.
About 1,300 unvaccinated public-school employees who were placed on unpaid leave nearly a year ago must submit proof they've received at least one Covid shot by Sept. 5 or face termination, according to the Department of Education.
