The federal government should follow the examples of several cities and states to attract more women and people of color to jobs in the construction trades and in climate-related sectors, according to a recent report. It would also do well to emulate cities and states to provide better wages and stability for those employed in childcare.
The report, by the Worker Institute at the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, analyzed ways to reform three industries with deep inequities.
