To the Editor:
As the gubernatorial race begins in earnest, we are, once again, hearing the same old tired campaign rhetoric that I thought we had left in the past. I am talking about the false, worn-out notion that we can “do more with less.” I expect this sort of pandering nonsense from Republican hopefuls like Lee Zeldin and Harry Wilson, but even Democrat Tom Suozzi is peddling the fantasy of “lower taxes and better services.”
