The union representing student academic workers at The New School and university officials have reached a contract agreement.
Local 7902 of the United Auto Workers announced last week that it had reached a three-year tentative agreement with school officials that includes raises between 24 percent and 31 percent for all members in the Student Employees of The New School (SENS) bargaining unit, increases upfront health-care discounts and creates both a childcare and a health-care fund. The tentative agreement also includes protections and improved housing guarantees for international students as well as ratification and course development bonuses.
