The efforts of Sanitation Workers on salt-spreaders and snow plows like this one on the Upper West Side of Manhattan Dec. 16 as the city got hit with between 5 and 11 inches of snow, depending on the area, led Mayor de Blasio to sing their praises the following morning. 'You go out there as many hours as it takes, you clear the way and, because of you, this morning vaccine shipments are moved around New York City and people are getting the things they need,' he said.
