Given that  he makes no secret of his disdain for Rudy Giuliani, why does Mayor de Blasio seem so eager to mimic him in his recent efforts to send municipal employees back to work locations that might not be safe?

After the World Trade Center's destruction by terrorists in September 2001, the cheers for his reassuring presence amid the uncertainty and fear that followed the attacks may have still been ringing in his ears when Mayor Giuliani opened much of lower Manhattan for business six days later.
