A former city correction officer has pleaded guilty to federal charges of filching more $170,000 in bogus salary and overtime payments by lying about the hours he worked on Rikers.
James Internicola, 56, pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court to a single count of federal program fraud. He faces a maximum 10-year prison stint when he is sentenced May 6. Internicola, a CO since 1996, resigned from the DOC following his arrest last October.
