A large number of school safety agents have been equipped with bullet-resistant vests, a change that their union said fulfills a long-time promise made during the Bloomberg administration.
About 3,000 school safety agents working in city public schools have received a bullet-resistant vest, according to the NYPD. About 1,000 agents have not yet received the equipment.
