See you in court, mayor

Posted

To the editor:

I share Michael Gorman’s happiness over the indictment of Donald Trump by Alvin Bragg. Coming on the heels of Mayor Adams’ inking of the poorly conceived Medicare Advantage contract, the week at least ended with hope for our judicial institutions.

In that regard, attorneys representing fellow retirees filed on March 29 a brilliant brief in Appellate Court, demonstrating that Justice Frank was on the money when ruling that EmblemHealth GHI $15 copays, were probably illegal, when he wrote that “the petitioners are highly likely to succeed on the merits of this action.”

The response of city and Emblem attorneys will be as woefully inept as Trump’s legal

teams’ track record.

As for Mayor Eric Adams, he has been positively Trumpian in portraying himself as a voice for the working class.

As Blair F. Bertaccini astutely observed, “Budgets are moral documents that express the priorities of a society.” Articles and letters here have invariably documented how the mayor’s budget, coupled with the push for Medicare Advantage, will truly hurt the most vulnerable of the public he claims to champion.

In this Passover season, remember the tale of the Golden Calf and what a cash cow

Medicare Advantage would be for Aetna. And we can’t assume that all at Mount Sinai would accept it. Adams told us last week, “So let it be written, so let it be done.” But we will see

you in court, Eric!
