The state has scheduled an exam for the position of Farm Products Grading Inspector 1 with the state Department of Agriculture and Markets. The application deadline is Oct. 17, and the nonrefundable fee to apply is $35.
The job pays $45,455. Appointees who work in New York City or in Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland or Westchester counties receive an additional $3,026 annual downstate adjustment. Those who work in Dutchess, Orange or Putnam counties get a $1,513 mid-Hudson adjustment.
