Union leaders are lambasting the Department of Veterans Affairs’ cancellation of most VA employees’ collective bargaining agreements as inherently un-American and a reflection of the administration’s anti-union agenda.
Nearly 400,000 workers at the VA are affected by last week’s annulment of the contracts. The cancellations follow President Trump’s March 27 executive order abolishing the collective-bargaining rights of federal employees who work in areas considered vital to national security.
