To the editor:
The mayoral election this year gives us a chance to elect an unconventional candidate who is actually honest and trustworthy.
Curtis Sliwa has been at the forefront of many issues that affect the lives of the citizens in New York for many years. For more than 45 years, Curtis and his Guardian Angels have patrolled our city streets and the subway system making it safer and providing security to many people.
If elected mayor, Sliwa says he would create more vocational high schools, which would provide students skills that will help them to fill many of our union jobs in NYC and provide them with a very good living wage.
He also is in favor of increasing the number of charter schools, providing access for the many children whose parents want better schools to send them to.
Sliwa is the only candidate for mayor who has consistently protested the opening of lithium battery storage facilities in residential areas. He clearly sees how dangerous this would be to any people and families living near them. He is also the only candidate to be against the “City of Yes” zoning regulations, which would help to destroy the city’s residential neighborhoods.
Sliwa says he would also bring back qualified immunity for our police officers so they can do their jobs again to make the city safer. This will make the city more desirable to live in and to work in and in which to have a business.
Union members should support Sliwa for mayor. He is also, probably, the only candidate who has ever worked a union job and has supported the middle class.
