Investigation Commissioner Mark Peters was forced to publicly apologize last week to two officials who had worked for him at the Office of the Special Schools Investigator and rehire the former Commissioner of that office, Anastasia Coleman.
It was one of several cases in which it appeared he had behaved intemperately; on a couple of occasions, he berated officials at other city agencies who he apparently believed were shortchanging the Department of Investigation on space as a reflection of Mayor de Blasio’s anger that he had done his job a bit too well in exposing administration failings.
