Workers at Sesame Workshop have voted 55-19 to join Local 153 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union, capping off a union campaign marred by layoffs and allegations of union busting.
In the weeks leading up to last Thursday’s vote, workers said, management posted signs around the workplace saying "The Union is NOT in everyone’s best interest” and implied in the posters that employees could lose out on benefits if they unionize, according to a photo of one of the signs.
