To the Editor: I haven't heard such ridiculous and deceptive defenses presented in a criminal case as I have in the Derek Chauvin trial in the death of George Floyd.
That some commentators, even experienced current or former prosecutors and defense attorneys, take the defense arguments seriously could be considered an abuse of one's own brain. That some jurors may accept the validity of the defense strategy is simply proof that some people will believe they can't trust their own eyes (the videos) if they are told something contrary by a speaker with authority and apparent credentials.
