Amazon and other e-commerce and delivery companies would have to employ their delivery drivers directly rather than through third-party contractors, according to a bill now in the City Council.
Queens Council Member Tiffany Cabán’s Delivery Protection Act looks to improve the working conditions and safety of delivery drivers by banning companies from using delivery service partners that allow corporations to pass off safety concerns to independent contractors.
