Crony flattery

Posted

To the editor:

Fantasy progress is easy to manufacture and sell in America.

President Trump makes constant assertions about set-in-stone progress in negotiations to end the Iran War.

He trumpets successes like nuclear inspections, control of the Strait of Hormuz, the unfreezing of Iranian assets. Newspapers report it all, and the American citizenry swallow it whole.

However, virtually the same day after President Trump makes such triumphant claims, Iranian leaders deny those things have actually been agreed upon.

What!?

Both sides of the table are headed by power-hungry despots who have spent a lifetime spinning propaganda stories about their winning ways, successes in implementing promised policies, claims of immense popularity and a clear mandate to rule with a strong arm.

Both political factions live in a world in which cronies continually flatter and lie to them about how things are going. In reality, leaders on both sides are corrupt and always on the edge of disaster.

    “Destiny’s Man"

President Donald J. Trump is undoubtedly destiny’s man.

He militarily kicked Iran into the proverbial ashcan.

If Iran foolishly endeavors to play catch me if you can,

Iran’s leadership will promptly be sent to an arcane land,

with two birds in hand, courtesy of destiny’s man……..
