A former FDNY EMT has pleaded guilty to stealing $600 from an undercover investigator posing as a sick patient.
The integrity test, which occurred at 3:26 a.m. on Aug. 2, 2023, saw EMT Luis Carrillo Jr., 44, riding an ambulance escorting the DOI investigator, posing as a patient requiring medical assistance, to Elmhurst Hospital, according to the city’s Department of Investigation, which announced the guilty plea last week. During the trip, the investigator saw Carrillo remove the investigator’s wallet, which contained $1,100 in marked bills.
