The Federal Air Marshal Service is hiring, with applications accepted through July 31. The service has vacancies in locations throughout the country, including Queens. The pay range is $63,163 to $82,108 per year, not including locality pay.
Entry-level air marshals serve as federal law enforcement officers for the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service. The federal air marshals' primary function is to protect commercial passenger flights by deterring and countering the risk of terrorist activity, aircraft piracy and other crimes to protect the nation's transportation infrastructure. Air marshals are equipped to operate independently in a highly stressful environment with little or no back-up available.
