Governor Cuomo’s still taking heat over the state of the subways and is dealing with a recurring anger-management problem. Mayor de Blasio seems to be pursuing a run for President that Don Quixote himself would find unrealistic (not to mention something less than “a heavenly cause”) and President Trump is just being himself.
Small wonder, then, that this year’s Inner Circle Show is called “Off the Rails.” The charity fundraiser will have its dress rehearsal April 26 and its black-tie performance April 27 at the New York Hilton, as a cast of past and present political reporters spoofs the goings-on at City Hall and in Albany and Washington and the Mayor himself and some of his show-business Agents of the City offer a Saturday night rebuttal.
