Dozens of unionized editorial employees at Fortune participated in a lunchtime walkout Thursday to protest management’s decision to force editorial employees back into the office three days a week and to call attention to the snail-like pace of bargaining.
Fortune has been negotiating with its workers in fits and starts for more than three years, and workers told The Chief they still have not received a response to proposals given to management in May. “We’re taking action to show the management of Fortune and the bargaining committee that we’re displeased with how long it's taken for us to negotiate terms on a contract,” said Trey Williams, a senior writer at Fortune and member of the bargaining committee.
