The state is seeking park police officer trainee candidates in several counties, including New York, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Nassau and Suffolk, for next year’s academy class. Trainees’ starting salary is $56,360, climbing to $59,298 following a year-long traineeship.
Appointees who work in the five boroughs or in Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland or Westchester counties will receive an additional $1,613 annual downstate adjustment.
