Pass on this protocol

Posted

To the editor:

The New York City pass unit is moving to a new location on Pierrepont Street in downtown Brooklyn but its policies have not changed. It still insists New York City Transit Authority retirees renew their pass in person.

During Covid, the MTA Pass Unit renewed retirees’ passes by mail. Despite the fact that variants of Covid are still rampant, they still compel elderly and often disabled to make the trip to Brooklyn to renew their pass.

Passes were promised to MTA Retirees. Some consideration should be given to the MTA employees and passes by mail should be reinstated.
